What else are you gonna do in Wisconsin in the winter? It's a great place to hunker down and capture the longing for summer in musical form... while you freeze your ass off! An almost perfect cocktail of boredom and beatdown... a natural incubator for music. And so it started...

In January and February of 2017, Brian and Starr began having regular recording sessions and were joined by Ben when he was in town. The concept was a live record--mistakes and all--that captured the instruments and a "living room sound" (including the clock that can be heard at the ends of most tracks).

Recording:
All sessions were recorded live in Brian's living room in Middleton, WI (with some dubs by Ben in his studio).

Brian plays his 2014 Duff F5 on all tracks. Starr plays Brian's Santa Cruz H13 on all tracks but Southern Flavor, on which he played his HD28. Mando and guitar had Beyerdynamic mc930s going through Auteur pres from Black Lion Audio . Brian sang through a Neumann U89 and Starr a Globe mic by Violet Design. Ben used a Royer 121 and/or AKG C414 through an LA-610 pre. Room mic was also the Royer 121.
